Assisted Living
I was walking through the living room on the way to my favorite chair when I spotted the movie. Actually, I spotted the box the movie was in and it quickly captured my attention. ?Assisted Living? was the title and on the front cover of this movie box was a man in scrubs sitting by an elder woman. Now, honestly it is not my type of movie, no action, no fighting, or anything manly. My wife must have rented it because it was her type of movie. Yet, it stimulates a thought. Assisted living is what I need and what I seek for each morning when I arise and start my day.
I continued to think about my need for assistance in living life while reading my email and pondering what I wanted to write this morning. I receive daily devotionals each morning and in one devotional a verse from the bible was highlighted, Matt 6: 25 ?Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?? Yeah buddy, that is what I need help in changing what I think, I need assistance. Help in every area of my life, I need assistance.
I just looked at the movie box again. Do you call the box a movie comes in a movie box? I don?t know but anyway, on the box it says this movie is a transforming, moving experience. Ok, another inspiration. I not only need assistance from God to live a normal, yes normal, every day existence I also need a transforming experience. Unless something ?God? transforms me each morning my life can get pretty ?screwed up?. My thinking can get really depressed and scrambled with out assistance from a source of power greater than I and Jesus Christ is that power. So, each morning I desperately search for assistance from God and, you know, He works for me. If He didn?t I would have to seek assistance in a bottle of alcohol or drugs or from sex or something that did work. But, I am so grateful He works for me and supplies all my emotional and physical needs and even gives me direction and purpose for life. And, I don?t have to seek assistance in living from a bottle or any other addiction anymore.
I wish I could recommend the movie but I have never watched it nor do I plan on watching it but I do recommend you seek assistance from our creator. He does work if you allow Him the time needed to assist you in every area of your life.
